No complaints here, I was also wondering about the age deal in Houston. I didn't see many young people there also,if any. I was looking for all the hot Bettie Page chicks & didn't see a one. The show was great.
hate nickels and dimes love weed
although its true pot was never part of the scene but behind closed doors it was
I started smoking pot at age 27

Well, I don't know about the rest of the country, but in So. Cal, we lit it up, before the show, during, and after. Just a bunch of Stoner surf punks we were. hell, just plain ol' buzz-o-holics.
yeah, I would say that weed was pretty common in So. cal punk culture. whoa, dude did I just say that?....Gave it up YEARS ago.
ttt for betty page
Well that don't sound any different than when we used to go to the shows in the 80's and we were kids. I'm pushing 40 also, sounds like a good ol' fashion punk rock show to me.Originally posted by RENODIVORCE:

Another complaint was with the younger audience members. I'm pushing 40 and have been a fan since the early '80's. These kids come to the show to push and shove and smoke weed.
No offence bud, but you're starting to sound like somebodys father....
Glad you had a great time though.

I am someone's father! Last time I looked alot of folks in the mid to late 30's are someone's father. I loved attending concerts, including Black Flag and Social Distortion in the early 80's, and I've done my share of slamming but do you really think a song like Ball and Chain is a song to push, tackle, and ride the crowd to?
lots of people smoke, some of those people like Social D, had find something to to do during the last 8 years while waiting for this album...and again nickels and dimes is a good song, yeah it this and not that, whatever, if it really sucked would we talk about it so much...
HAHA! oh, I hear ya TOMDAN, I'm a daddy also.
Ball and Chain? prolly not, but figure this, For a lot of these kids, It's there first SD show.
I'm sure that you spent all night, every song in the pit at your first SD show and many after that.
The Kids are excited bro.
Now me? both out of preference and neccesity, I only dive in on certain songs, I enjoy just hangin' out watching the band and I sure as hell can't dance all night like I used to.
All I'm sayin' is, just remember what it was like for you back in the day.
Most of these kids these days look up to us old skoolers,( I know that might be debatable ) so don't dissapoint them.
When it's all said and done, it's still punk rock.
No disrespect to you at all there old timer
I didn't want to come off sounding offended. You're right Reno. I guess I am getting a little long in the tooth as much as I hate to admit it. Just think, at the rate that Social Distortion tours, I'll be pushing 50 not 40 when they visit New Orleans next time!
No shit bro, they'll have to wheel us into the venue, With our Grand Kids!!!
